IVY

Now a full Japanese Citizen, Ivy is a former Olympic sprinter for Japan. Ivy was originally born in the United States, but has since renounced citizenship. He returned to the U.S in 2017 to continue his career as a competitive runner in Europe and Asia. Now residing in Austin, TX, when not in front of the camera, Ivy trains for the 2021 Olympics set to take place in Tokyo with the world renowned USA Olympic track and field coach, Darryl Woodson. Ivy holds the opportunity to compete as a Black, Japanese-American athlete dear to him. He cites his mother, a born and raised Japanese citizen, as an inspiration to compete. He hopes to influence other dual-citizen athletes to represent their native cultures.
